My Thumper bumper got in a fight with something last week and wound up with an infected puncture wound on his ear. He's fine now -- a little traumatized from the vet vist and having his ear shaved, and poor doggie it's on the same side as his missing leg. He wants so bad to scratch his itchy healing wounds and all he can do is wiggle his stump. It would be cute if it wasn't so pathetic.
My parents went to see Ryley this weekend so I'm watching my poor neurotic 3 legged puppy with a shaved ear on his turf. The perks of my parents' house: free laundry and food, lots of DVDs (Simpsons 5 was sitting on top of the TV -- chalk that one up to sis I guess). The downsides: Mom went all vegetarian and PETA on me and there is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much health food here. Thanks to my dad and my sister there is some meat and carb/fat/sodium rich junk, but I've pretty much demolished what little was here. My sister's going to shoot me when she finds out I ate all her tater tots. I'm about to run up to civilization for some greasy fast food. Something that will clog my arteries while I'm giving my order. Mmmmmmmmmmmm...fat...sorry, got distracted. The other downsides are NO CABLE and DIAL UP INTERNET. Seriously, how do I function in a house with no cable TV/internet connection?!?!?!
Also Joe declined to join me. I don't blame him cause it's so fucking BORING out here, but I miss snuggling him at night. :(
I did get contacts today, though. :D Our direct deposit tax refunds cleared this morning (WHOO-HOO! MONEY!). I was waiting in the parking lot when America's Best opened. An hour later I had a year's worth of contacts and plan on getting a new pair of glasses for back up when I go back for my follow up. I haven't had contacts in 3 years. God I missed them.
Now I have to get sunglasses.
