I think I've finally put my finger on what bugs me so much about the Big Fandom News. Star Wars has always been, for better or for worse, outside the Hollywood establishment. Now it's part of the Hollywood proper that Lucas spent so much of his career distancing himself from. There is potential for good as we saw with The Muppets -- another franchise outside the Hollywood box. I don't know about y'all, but I thought the last film was closer to Jim Henson's vision than anything else produced after his death. Singing frogs and pigs are Disney's milieux, though, and Henson was in talks to sell The Muppets to Disney before his death in part for that reason.
There's also my general irritation about Disney acquiring yet another independent piece of my childhood and their growing monopoly. Along with owning ABC, ESPN, The Muppets, Marvel, and a whole host of other properties I'm too lazy to look up right now they practically write copyright law for Congress (with ample help from the Gershwin estate). I feel like George Lucas sold the Rebels out to the Empire. I doubt I'd be happy about him selling it to anyone, but the fact that it's Disney annoys the !@#$ out of me. Where's an anti-trust law when you need one...
