And I thought *I* was having a bad day
Aug. 12th, 2005 01:03 pmToday just wasn't going well. I screwed something up and got mad at myself for listening to my boss when I *knew* he was wrong. I've found when he doesn't know something, he tells me how he thinks it's done rather than admit he's not sure. New motto for life: "Never trust your boss, especially if he sells cars." So I'm going to get this mess fixed and copy every form in the deal so I have a reference. And I'm never listening to my boss again unless at least 2 other people confirm his information. Needless to say, I was getting really frustrated and pissed off.
And then I heard what happened in the service department today.
This guy had a car up on the lift for an alignment. It was in neutral, the parking brake was off. It NOSEDIVED into our brand new alignment computer, pushing a cabinet into the wall so hard it sliced the wires.
At least $3000 worth of damage, and the count is estimated to keep rising as the techs come out and assess the damage to the computer. Miraculously, the only damage to the car itself was a shot alignment and a big dent in the front bumper. They're damn lucky that thing didn't flip and the top crushed.
So, no matter what happens for the rest of the day, I am secure in the knowledge that I did not wreck someone's brand new car.
