Where I stand meme

Before I start, mature dissenting comments are welcome. Stupid ones will earn the author a bop on the head.
Abortion: I am pro-choice, but I don’t see it as a perpetual form of birth control. Once, maybe, because people can fuck up in life. But when I hear about women who go out and have eleven (yes, I said ELEVEN, and I’m NOT making that up) abortions because they can’t keep their legs closed I want to drop them off at an ER with orders for a hysterectomy attached. Pills, condoms, no sex. What a concept. And I also believe there ALWAYS needs to be a place in the law for medical necessity, which is why I wasn't happy with Bush and his cronies completely banning partial birth abortions. If that's what it takes to save the mother's life and she realizes it, that should be between her, her doctor, and the baby's father.
Death Penalty?: I like Fern's answer here. If you're 100% sure they did it---if they're bragging about it and have no shame---gas 'em. But I think Texas goes waaaaaay overboard and I'm sure there's a big mistake or two or 20 on their list.
Prostitution?: Why pay for what you can go in a bar and get for free? So they don't look as good. Beer goggles can fix that.
Alcohol?: The more the better :D Okay, not really. So long as it doesn't interfere with your day to day.
Marijuana?: Legalize and tax the hell out of it. The national debt will be a distant memory.
Other drugs?: Nada.
Gay marriage?: Take the amendment DOWN. Two people who want to share their lives for all eternity deserve to have it recognized by the government. And in a much less serious vein, let them marry. Why shouldn't they be as miserable as the rest of us? ;)
Illegal immigrants?: I'm really liberal, but damn. If you want to come here do it right. And make an effort to learn English, damn it.
Drunk driving?: Badness. Bad bad bad bad. And I say this having got behind the wheel when I shouldn't have, waking up the next morning and having an immense guilt attack.
Cloning?: Is there a reason we need to clone whole animals/humans? Cells, parts, maybe. But not the whole shebang.
Racism?: It's dumb, but what I don't understand are people who are racist but think it's okay cause they're a minority. "I hate ________ (fill in a race). They're all ______." But it's okay because other people say the same about them. And this table of black people that came into my restaurant one time and told their white server "We requested a black server." Excuse me? Can you imagine the hell that would break loose if it was reversed?
Premarital sex?: If you can look yourself in the mirror the next morning, that's your call.
Religion?: Not my bag, but if it floats your boat great. Just respect other people's views.
The war in Iraq?: KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO AND HOW YOU'RE GETTING OUT. And don't act all surprised when you find out the locals aren't happy you're there. It's not like they asked you to come. Geez...
Bush?: Even before 9/11 I hated the man for what he did to the public education system as well as his obvious LACK of command of the English language. But now with the Patriot Act, the war, his smugness, his refusal to say "gee, maybe this wasn't the best idea," I want his head on a platter.
Downloading music?: It's funny. I don't remember such an uproar over everyone copying the videos they rented in the 80s. If the RIAA has such an issue over copyright, they need to come up with copy-protected CDs rather than suing 12 year olds.
The legal drinking age?: Should be 18. If you can go die in Iraq for oil, you should be able to have a tall cold one.
Porn?: Whatever floats your boat. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Suicide?: Outside of terminal illness, a desperate cry for help. Assisted suicide/suicide rather than live with the pain of terminal illness...that's a call only those who are suffering can make, and I don't wish that choice on them.
