Oh where, oh where has Laura been gone?
Feb. 11th, 2004 01:16 amI haven't really been gone, just busy. Work's been kicking my ass lately. I work extremely hard and wind up going "What the fuck?" at the end of most nights.
But anywho...
I've decided to take a sabbatical from my teaching career. The Catholic school left such a horrible taste in my mouth that I need some time away to think and pull things together. I'm moving pretty fast in the Ruby Tuesday career path, so I might try to get into management and do that for awhile. I like the company and all, and it would be a good thing on my resume rather than "I just waited tables for however long I didn't teach or didn't apply to grad school." My next move is bar training, which sounds absolutely delightful.
Called the insurance company today to verify exactly when the hospital knew I had no coverage for my stay, then called the hospital. The second I told them exactly who informed me my insurance was kosher, suddenly the woman goes "I'll have to talk to my supervisor and call you back."
That's right. I remember exactly who told me what. Her name was Jill, and she said I was covered in- and outpatient. And my parents remember, too. Nyah. Busted. Here's some ketchup for when you have to eat the bill.
