Today's ultrasound brought to you by the letter P

Already this child is being difficult. It pretty much refused to move into position for the nuchal fold test until after the sonagrapher pounded on my stomach with the ultrasound probe for 2 minutes straight. My stomach still hurts. But it wasn't all in vain. We saw the baby jumping around and sucking its thumb and eventually curled up happily on the bottom of my uterus. We heard the little heartbeat and best of all, no thickening of the nuchal fold. We'll have the big find out what it is ultrasound August 9, just 3 days after Joe's birthday. :) He says it's the best birthday present ever.

In the meantime, I'm going to put something soothing and muscle relaxing on my stomach.

I see it! I see it! usually looking at ultrasounds is like trying to pass an ink blot test for me, but I actually can spot the baby in this one! Yaaay! :)

Wow! Thanks for sharing.

And yes, ultrasounds can be painful. I've never been pregnant, but I've had ultrasounds taken of my liver and pancreas. After a few moments I was almost crying from the pain.
