Gonna get a new job if it kills me

I played hooky from work yesterday ("Hey, it's Laura. My car broke. Sorry.") and went job hunting. First stop, state employment commission. They were having open interviews for "administrative assistants" -- fancy word for secretary, anyone? -- for $12/hr and some manufacturing work. People were EVERYWHERE. It took me 2 hours to get an interview. You know what it was? A staffing service using this as an opportunity to get people's applications. If I don't get a temp to hire job, I'll kill them.

Next stop: one of the local hospitals for clerical work. No news on them yet.

Next stop: Applebee's for a margarita.

Last stop: Staffing agency just to see what they had. All manufacturing jobs.

And on to home.
